Emma now knows where you are
She recognises the app, view and record you're working on, so you can ask for what you need without explaining the context first. She also bundles several operations into a single approval, and can now set up U.S. sales tax calculation end to end.

From answering questions to taking work off your hands
Version 1.7 is entirely about Emma. The biggest change is awareness:
She now sees the screen you're on, which makes every request shorter and every answer more precise.
On top of that, she handles multiple operations in one approval, sets up U.S. sales tax calculation on her own, and holds long conversations without losing the thread.
1. Emma in Context
Ask for what you need without explaining where you are
Emma recognises the app, view and record you're working on
Until now, every request had to carry its own context: which customer, which invoice, which app. Emma now reads that from your screen. Open a sale order and ask her to check the margin, and she knows which order you mean.
Shorter requests, fewer misunderstandings, and guidance that matches what you actually have in front of you.
Always one click away, from the top bar
Emma is now available directly from the top bar, so you can reach her from any screen in Odoo without interrupting what you're doing.
The same awareness applies wherever you open her. Including from the notes of a record, where she already knows which document you're annotating.
2. Actions
Several operations, one approval, and nothing lost along the way
Approve a batch of operations with a single click
Ask Emma for several things at once and she groups them into one redesigned confirmation view. You see everything she's about to do, review it as a whole, and approve the full batch in one click instead of confirming each step separately.
Follow her reasoning while she works
You can now watch Emma think in real time, and that reasoning stays in the chat instead of disappearing once she's done. When a result isn't what you expected, you can see which step led there rather than guessing.
Interrupt her without starting over
If you send a new message while Emma is in the middle of something, the previous action can be picked up again with its context intact. A change of mind no longer costs you the work already done.
3. U.S. Accounting
Emma sets up U.S. sales tax calculation for you
From an empty configuration to automatic tax calculation
Setting up sales tax across U.S. states used to mean a sequence of technical steps and a specialist to run them. Ask Emma, and she handles the whole configuration herself.
What Emma sets up
- Installs the required modules
- Assigns the US Tax Manager role
- Creates the Nexus for each state
- Connects ZipTax using your API key
From that point on, tax is calculated automatically on your orders and invoices, backed by the sales tax engine introduced earlier this year.
No Plaid connection is required for this setup.
4. Longer Conversations
Work with Emma for an hour and she still remembers the first question
Long sessions stay fast and keep their thread
Emma now manages her own context intelligently over the course of a conversation. She uses fewer resources, replies faster, and keeps what was discussed earlier in the same session available instead of losing it as the chat grows.
One consistent company context across every tool
Company, language, date and time zone are now shared consistently by everything Emma uses. A question like "sales this month" resolves against the right company and the right calendar, which matters most in multi-company setups where the wrong default used to produce the wrong answer.
Clearer feedback when a document can't be imported
If a file isn't in a supported format, Emma now explains what the problem is and carries on with the conversation, instead of stopping without an explanation.
5. Stability & Control
Predictable behaviour, and clear ownership of every action
Conversations pick themselves back up
If a conversation is interrupted by a restart or an error, it now recovers automatically. Responses are delivered reliably, with no duplicate messages and no open-ended waits.
Execution limits that keep the service responsive
New usage limits and maximum execution times are now in place. They keep a single heavy operation from affecting the responsiveness of the service for everyone else working in the same environment.
In shared chats, only the person who started an action can confirm it
When several people share a conversation with Emma, the operation belongs to whoever requested it. Only that person can confirm, cancel or modify it, so nobody approves a change on someone else's behalf by accident.

Emma on more Odoo versions
We're working on support for Emma across Odoo 16 to 18, so you can bring her to customer environments running on earlier versions without migrating them first.
